952 Studios Design Planning
Sorry to drag you all back a few posts, to post 7, but I wanted to addd something. 4890 Many people assume that the reason for bringing in fresh air is to provide enough oxygen: that's partly true, but it's not the real reason. The REAL reason is that you need to get rid of the CO2! You exhale a lar...

Your images have disappeared from the start up to and including post 11. I thought at least one of those had the control room where, in your latest layouts, you have the live room, with the garage door requiring space for the entrance lobby, as shown in the diagrams in posts 19 and 20. Now that the ...

There are studios that use cameras and big screens instead of windows. It makes the isolation simpler and cheaper and allows you to have your CR where it will work best but none of us can tell you what will be ideal from your perspective.StudioJiimaan wrote:Qr Bbpost....my biggest concern is losing visibility from CR....

It looks as though StudioJiimaan's OP has been deleted. Pretty much the same topic is on gearspace as Studio Layout Part Three.

To my eyes, if the current live room A and the control room swapped places, that would have some benefits: - fewer doors needed into the control room, particularly where first reflections occur; - the control room should be rotated 90°, as Stuart mentioned, leaving room for a door on the side wall b...

I am of the impression that John's standard design starts from the basis that speakers will not be flush-mounted, although I can see from the stuff John gives his clients access to that he has drawings for flush-mounting so it is clearly something he can include, just as you spotted. There is a fair bit on gearspace from John and Rod Gervais from around the 2010-2014 period where both of them do not recommend flush-mounting, which seems to be aimed at non-clients.Greyhound wrote:Qr BbpostAfter all Jason's work and expense, the speakers are not flush-mounted despite the advantages that have been noted elsewhere.
Stuart has persuaded me too, along with discussions about the positives of flush-mounting and sub-woofers on gearspace.Greyhound wrote:Qr BbpostI found Stuart's comments in favour of flush mounting to be quite persuasive, and am just trying to reconcile the different viewpoints (if possible).
We are in Poprad, just the other side of the High Tatras from Zakopane. Here is a photo from our Boxing Day walk.Greyhound wrote:Qr Bbpostbtw are you close to the Tatras? My wife is from Poland and until the pandemic we used to vacation in Zakopane every few years. It is a really beautiful region!

4768 Not to mention that it will take nearly a foot of your room length... A useful version of that thing is at least 10" deep, probably 14" or more, plus some more for the support structure, and deep bass trapping behind it... That's a lot of space to lose on your back wall... plus, it w...

Hello Howie. I don't see a problem with the cross-braces. You could open up the top, bottom and sides to allow more sound to enter the traps, either by drilling, routing or jigsawing holes, something like this, for example. LP1449.jpg Also, if you have the space to increase the 2" gap to be the...

4729 ... ventilation ... about 600€ each at least and maybe it is not that much more to try to do a proper split system. With a split system, ventilation and AC are separate. Three mini-split ACs plus a building-wide ventilation system would be one possibility. From what you wrote it sounds as thou...
