Re: The DOCUMENT LIBRARY
Another classic is Acoustics by Beranek. The one and only! Still a great book, even after all these years. Some things don't change much... And basic acoustic theory is one of those. We might be able to tweak and refine and improve with modern tools, but the basic underlying stuff still holds true,...

Hey Tom.... I'm also glad you made it over to the new forum! Your build and your goals are very ambitious, but achievable if you do everything right... and so far, you certainly are. The photos show what you have a accomplished in a very short time, considering it's just you basically, with help occ...

Basic treatment for small home production/mixing room
I have to admit that after reading through Jennifer's topic I am giving soffits a second thought Yes yes yes! :thu: ! Very much recommended, if you can find the extra budget. Even in small rooms they can give very good improvements. That being said I didn't realise that adding them at later stage i...

Re: Music Studio in my Studio apartment!
Hi there, and Welcome! :thu: :) So glad you made it over here, to the new forum. - Neuman KH120's I think I said this to you before, elsewhere, but I'll say it again: Those are nice! They should work well in that room. I'm assuming it won't matter which soundcard I take my measurements in but any in...

Basic treatment plan is superchunks in three right angle vertical corners (ROCKSONIC SUPER 10CM, 38KG/m3 density, ~78cm across corner), 2 panels on the front wall, behind the monitors, tight against the wall (PT80 80kg/m3, 10 CM), 2 side panels on the first reflection points (TOPROCK ...

Re: Amp Riser Effectiveness
I think Glenn was just referring to ordinary construction glue, or wood glue, basically just to keep the layers firmly together, but to my way of thinking, it makes sense to do it with Green Glue. It's certainly worth a try! It can't do any harm, so I say: Go for it!

Re: The DOCUMENT LIBRARY
Thanks, Andre. That's another good book. One of the things I do like about it, is the many practical examples he gives, and the simple explanations... for those who don't like the math.

Great! I certainly do remember your thread over there, and I'm real glad you made it over here too. Welcome again! It would be great if you could start your own thread here, on the new forum, about your room problems and treatment issues, as this is where I'll be concentrating most of my efforts. I'...

Re: New Studio (With Measurements)
The levels seem to have changed between the initial "baseline" tests that you did, and this new set of tests. The new one are several dB quieter. It's hard to say exactly how much, since they aren't the same, due to all the changes you did, but it looks like about 3 or 4 dB difference. Its...
